Rebates

Medicare

When seeking children’s speech therapy it is important to be aware that your child may be eligible for Medicare rebates for speech pathology assessment and therapy. Helen Moore is a registered Medicare Australia Provider allowing eligible clients to make claims for services through Medicare.

If your child is eligible, they must have a referral plan from the GP or Paediatrician. The following plan can be used to obtain a rebate from Medicare:

The CDM plan (formerly known as EPC plan) is instigated by your GP and available to those with Chronic Care needs. The plan provides a Medicare rebate for five sessions with an allied health professional per calendar year. It is important to note that only individual sessions can be claimed through a CDM plan. Helen can provide information to assist your GP in deciding if your child is eligible for a CDM Plan.

National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS)

NDIS is a national funding scheme for the disability sector in Australia. NDIS offers an information and referral service to any Australian (aged 0-65 years) with any level of disability; including access to specialist disability support services.

If eligible for NDIS, your child will receive funding on an annual basis to purchase the services and aids your child needs to achieve your goals and optimal independence.

Helen Moore can accept NDIS clients who have self managed or plan managed funds.

Private Health Insurance

If you have private health insurance with extras you may be eligible for a rebate for speech pathology services. Please check with your private health insurance fund to see if your child is eligible for rebates and if you need to arrange for a referral through your GP.
